  1. Best croissant and raspberry fruit tart we’ve had here in Lyons!!! Loved that the tart wasn’t too sweet. The outside was crispy, it was creamy, and just so good!

  2. This bakery is small, but they have plenty of items and what I tried was delicious! The woman who was working there was very pleasant. It was a fast transaction, but a good experience. Great place to grab some baked goods if you’re in Lyon.

  3. There are a lot of good boulangeries in France and I’ve been to many, so when I say this is the best boulangerie I have ever been to… The pain au chocolat has soft, fantastic chocolate not those hard bricks and the croissant framboise changed my life. I will forever be looking for these everywhere I go but this one will be hard to beat.

  4. One of the top spots I’ve encountered in my life for Viennoiseries. From my travels, I’d say Masa Madre offers as good or better than the best bakeries in Paris, New York, LA and San Francisco. The lamination is perfect, the fillings proper consistency and not too sweet (no hard chocolate in the pain au chocolat here!) Besides nailing the classics, the baker balances tradition with creativity (cassis cruffin, praline brioche). Go when in Lyon!

Good Bakery but slightly underwhelming given its reputation. The baguette had a perfect texture and taste but the pastries were a little heavy/bready.

The one of the best bakeries in Lyon. Croissant and Pain au chocolat are tremendous, which made us jealous of neighbors here. Barcelona, our city cannot beat this lovely store forever.

Nice bakery. Pain aux Chocolat was excellent, better than the croissant in my opinion. I was hoping for a regular sized americano, but it was almost the size of an espresso. But that’s also because we are in France after all.

Welcoming staff but I can clearly say that the price of the bread is on the high end. It does smell the sourdough when you come in the bakery. The whole-wheat bread is awesome! We come and buy when we go to the kitchen café, my fav’ place when I am in town!

Amazing experience. Smiley staff and unprecedented quality. Probably the best bakery in Lyon. The prices are just.

Boy did we get lucky! We were wandering around small streets. Almost went past this bakery. The incredible appearance of the bread in the window stopped me in my tracks. We went inside actually thinking that we may just take pictures. They graciously allowed us to do that. Everything that we saw was so delicious looking. The two young people that greeted us(I completely forgot to ask their names) were such sweet people. We did end up buying different things. Plus a Panatone that is actually the best that I have ever had. I am going back to arrange to have that and maybe a few other items shipped to me in Los Angeles. They helped us with suggestions for a lunch place in the area. The very nice young lady followed us out to give us their flagship cake. More like a chocolate bread with chocolate and more chocolate. I can see why it is a flagship item. Just in case you cannot tell how much I like everything about this bakery ILOVE it. Don’t wait to find it by accident as we did. Plan to go there. You will be rewarded.

Great bread! We tried the nuts and raisins, it was freshly baked, still warm, crunshy outside and soft inside. With a dry goat cheese, it was delicious.

Best boulangerie in town, they now have 2 locations, it’s not your typical baguette in fact they don’t eve do those which is great because there’s so much more to bread than baguette! We come here every day, literally every day for our “daily bread” and we like the multigrain or the pumpkin seed bread.
