I have bad anxiety about making big purchases or buying anything in general for myself so today when I went to Best Buy in Beaumont (you know the one off the highway next to the new Burlington and just a hop, skip and a jump away from those delicious burgers at Wendy’s) anyways, but after I walked around looking very suspect for a while I decided to tell the next person to ask if I needed help that I indeed needed help. About that time along came a gift from God it seemed. K (the salesdude) was nice, patients and checked many times for inventory on hand etc. Told me what would be best and what he suggested without trying to sell me a bunch of trash I didn’t need. He was polite and made sure to explain everything throughly and not once seemed annoyed I asked so many question! Here’s to you Mr.Blue Shirt doing your thing at Best Buy like a boss! First time they were missing parts. Second time was a no show. Third time was a no show again, and when I called and complained that they cancelled and needed to reschedule a fourth time, they “made time”. Still not super impressed. They needed better communication with customers. Every employee I have ever dealt with has been great. NOT the case with managers! Two managers- Jordan at Beaumont and Emanuel at Port Authur lied to me. I was unaware of the unusually short return policy of 15 days on tvs. Just a week or so after buying a tv that the sales person talked me into, I was told to try a few things to clear up the lines on my tv. After this didnt work, I tried to return it at about 30 days. Jordan said there is nothing he could do. He was very dismissive and borderline rude. Per the advise of a very helpful customer service rep I spoke with on the phone, I tried to return it again during normal business hours in Port Authur. Again, the employees were great. Even the manager-Kaleb was very understanding. But, when things were escalated to the GM – Emanuel, I was met with the same dismissive, rude attitude. And, more lies. If you dont want to help me, thats fine. Just be big enough to say that. Dont lie!
This is the reason BB will not be here very much longer. Why would I go buy a product from a store rather than have it delivered to my house for the same price? The only answer is in person customer service and standing behind the products you sell. A 15 day return policy is a joke! You may as well not have one at all! At least WM and others have 30 day policy. And, I bet if I went in at 45-60days they wouldnt tell me “Theres nothing I can do.”.

I went in Best Buy to purchase a drone for a friend. I don’t remember the employee’s name that assisted me but he was straight forward on letting me know all the details in shipping and when my friend would receive the drone and everything I needed to know since I didn’t know much about what I was doing. The gentlemen was extremely professional and at the same time, I left with no questions. I found the item I wanted but it was locked in a glass cabinet. An employee was assisting a lady next to me who just happened to be the same employee that assisted me the night before. I did not disturb him but asked the employee 15 feet beyond him about getting the cabinet unlocked.
He said he was on it He never moved but did appear to be in a conversation on the Secret Service type comm gear some of them were wearing. 5 minutes later and nothing. Meanwhile the employee that greeted me at the door was up there with 4 other employees discussing something. 1 of them was moving a shopping cart back and forth.
So I did as he had asked me earlier and notified him that I did indeed need his help. He assured me that he would have it unlocked. 5 minutes later and the employee that helped me last night looked up and noted to me that he recognized me from last night and asked how I was doing. I said I’m doing good but that I need to get this cabinet unlocked so I can part with this $69.00. Again,. I was assured that a key was inbound.8 minutes later and he hadn’t moved 10 feet from he has been the entire time I was there. The first employee is still talking I ti his headset. And, the greeter is still in discussion with the 4 other employees.

I called around to get a quote for installation and the lowest price I was quoted was $125. I called Best Buy and was given a price of$150. I decided to go to the physical store and get a quote because trying to get a quote via the national call line was IMPOSSIBLE because Best Buy has out sourced that service. I made my appointment in the store and was given a price of $99 for the job. A little under 2 hours later and my son and I were VERY pleased with the end results. What can I say, if you can’t find something quick and easy on Amazon, Best Buy is always my go-to. Have gone to several different of these stores before. Staff were always helpful, until today. We stayed and walked around in the phone and accessories department for awhile. There were several people supposedly working in this store and behind the desk. No one attempted to help us or even talk to us to ask us if we needed help even though we looked at all the phones on the table. If you need any help, or have questions about products, you need to go to another store that may actually care if they help you. I’ve never been ignored in a store like this before. And, they did not have other customers at the time. Pitiful customer service.
