Generally speaking, I appreciate the Target shopping experience. I have been going there for decades. When covid-19 changed the world we live in as we knew it, the retail industry adjusted the customer’s experience by introducing curbside pickup. I believe this has been a wonderful new option in customer service. I have used it numerous times and it is such a blessing when there is bad weather and a time saver on those long, busy days.
However, on this last Target purchase, I placed the order online and it was to be ready in 2 hours. Since it was just before the Christmas holiday they were backlogged and my order was not ready until the next day. I had other obligations that kept me from being able to pick up my order. So my daughter offered to help me by going by to pick it up. I went back on the app to list a pickup person and was very surprised to find out that she had to be invited to be on my account as a shopping partner? This small hurdle became a complicated process. When unexpected things happen in life making a small adjustment such as who has permission to pick the order up on my behalf should not become a hassle. I hope someone will give this some thought and make things easier for Target shoppers in the future.
