I went to check out in the self checkout line. When I was walking up to the kiosk, I was approached by a worker who was overseeing the self check out. She told me that she needed to search my lunch kit and took the lunch kit up and opened it. I asked her why she was doing this. She stated to me that if she doesn’t do it that she would get in trouble with her boss. I told her this was very interesting as my boyfriend purchased the same lunch box and he was not asked to open it before checking out. The employee did not respond. If this is Target’s Loss Prevention policy program. It needs to be enforced across the board and not by random selection. Especially when you as the customer don’t know what the selection criteria is. If you randomly select people you’ll miss the actual thieves and it appears to be profiling. To note my lunch box was empty. For clarity I am black. My boyfriend is white. Tried to call the store three times after the incident today. It rang out each time and the call was disconnected. They have a “we are hiring” sign outside. So in addition to this case of profiling they are short staffed. Never was able to get the name of the employee. I definitely filled out the survey on my receipt. Waiting to see if I will be contacted. This experience left me totally disgusted. I have never had an experience like this in my life. Their drive up service is consistently atrocious… beyond frustrating. They constantly miss items or will put the wrong item in the order. Conveniently, it’s always a cheaper product than what I ordered and paid for. I understand that mistakes happen, but they shouldn’t happen all. the. time. Not only do they take forever, even during non-peak hours, but more than one occasion I’ve had to go in the store and deal with their less-than-courteous customer service team to fix the issue. It’s a target. Who doesn’t like target. However, I was a little surprised I still couldn’t try on clothes. But the last I asked, was so kind about their policy and had a great suggestion for me, and the lady at the checkout, Jenny, was beyond awesome. She was very patient with my son who wanted to buy his own legos.
The store was very busy yet the staff was all working as a team. Very efficient, polite, and respectful. Look, there are some things that are out of my control at my job and I understand the same can happen while shopping anywhere. I’m not going to blame the staff because I couldn’t get through on the phone or the store is out of stock for something.
This store is clean, seemed to be stocked, and the staff were really helpful.
One would think that in the 21st century, and in a first-world country you could call a store and have someone answer the phone, but apparently that is not the case. If you’re trying to reach the electronics department to inquire about stock (online stock is not always accurate) or place an item on hold, good luck to you. The call will ring for about 5 minutes, nobody will answer, and it will then hang up. This needs to be resolved, it seems to be a trend lately amongst many Target stores.
Customer service at this location is phenomenal! Nat in particular is absolutely fantastic. I really love this target and rarely go to any other location but this one
