The best place to grocery shop on Harrisonburg! All of the staff and management are always super friendly and helpful. Everything is well organized and fully stocked. The new layout of the store is a major improvement from before. Now there are places to self-checkout or to have someone scan your items for you. I believe this store even has more options than the full Walmart in town, as far as grocery and health/beauty goes. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could!

It wasn’t our usual Walmart stop as we just needed to pick up a few things we didn’t normally find. The selection was a little better grade than the other Walmarts in town. Easy in out. They have refined their self-serve registers from the last trip there.

I will be supporting my local Walmart on a regular basis because Walmart ownership invested in our Denver Broncos! If you could try to start offering more local meat/veggie/fruit options, my friend Stefan and I would appreciate it 🙂

A lot less crowded than the big Walmart on Burgess rd. it’s all self check out though. I don’t think there’s any lanes with a cashier. I think you’d need to go to customer service if you had accessibility needs. If there are other options they weren’t readily visible. But I was able to quickly find what I needed and get in and out.

The store was busy, but employees were helpful. The only thing I don’t like about this store is all registers are self checkout. It took me longer to checkout then it did to shop. The good part of my experience was that I was able to find everything I was looking for.

Before checking into my resort for the week, we stopped at the Super Walmart which is located 15 minutes from where we are staying. Full supermarket to go along with the normal Walmart items. The building is huge, could be a little cleaner and updated. This Walmart has a gas station across the street which is cheaper than any of the regular gas stations.

There is so much wrong in this store (Burgess Rd, Harrisonburg, VA) that I could write a book…but I will try to keep it short. (And no…I am not an employee), but I do have family and friends that either work for or shop at this location. The management in this store doesn’t care about the safety of the customers or employees. I have found safety issues that have been reported numerous times by different employees. One of those is a trip hazzard at the lawn and garden section, where my 74 yr old mom did in fact trip over and won a trip to the ED in an ambulance. That was in September and they have yet to fix the issue completely. I have spoken to management repeatedly after that incident and all they seem to do is place blame on maintenance, assure me it’s getting done, and apologize for something they know they are going to continue to ignore. As management they should have made it a priority to have had that issue fixed when their employees kept bringing it to their attention. It was an injury that could have been, and should have been, prevented! I also called to management’s attention the fact that there is a broken baby changing table in the back bathroom…and they still have it in use rather than locking it out and putting an “out of order” sign on it. Tells you what they think of your babies that you bring into the store with you! We’ve also had issues with store deliveries not getting to the correct address and this last time they didn’t get delivered at all until the next day and multiple calls, again to management. He was supposed to give us a gift card in the amount of out order cost. I ended up with a card with no monetary value at all when trying to use it…so AGAIN I had to contact management. Not a happy Walmart customer at the moment.

The last experience in the Electronics department was poor. Took awhile to get someone to unlock a game as there was only one person working electronics. There was already a line at their counter to check out and to get photos. The person could have offered to place the game into a protective locking box that I could carry up front to pay, but did not and took it to the electronics counter for me to pay for it. While waiting in line for 20 minutes in electronics to get the item, one person was taken care of and there were still several that needed help. I watched other employees walk around in a few feet of us as they socialized. Finally, I asked the other employees that were talking and not working if I could get the game in a locking asset protection case, also explained the situation to them and that the game is already at the counter, so that I could pay for it up front. The employee said that this “wasn’t their department” and absolutely refused any service, even something as simple as placing a game into a lock case. So, I left the product there and purchased it elsewhere. If Walmart’s employees do not want to help customers or even other employees, then it’s unreasonable to expect customers to wait 20, 30, 40 minutes in line for assistance. I feel sorry for the other people that were still in line because they were waiting longer than I was. This Walmart needs to work on their concept of team and customer service, because this interaction was everything of what NOT to do.

The last 2 years were tough on Halloween decor but they are making up for it now. Great selection of decorations, clean store and pleasant staff. I’m not a small guy so I will say they could use a larger selection of 3xl clothing but it’s all good I need to loose the weight.
Also we are a local nonprofit and the .99 bags they have up front are massively helpful for the Thanksgiving meals we give out to families, they have been hit or miss over the last 2 years. I hope they come back this year.

What a messy store, full of empty shelves and the ones that weren’t had empty boxes on them. We only came for pet food and didn’t see much else but we did see was a mess. You’d think with not being a 24 hour store anymore they’d keep it clean but that’s not the case.

I love this Walmart. Usually not overcrowded. Have everything I buy on a daily basis. With the Burgess Rd store so close to where I live I forget it’d really only a few minutes more to the “Dayton” Walmart. *****Added plus….. the Dollar tree in this shopping plaza is better than the one near Harrisonburg Walmart too… side shout out. I need to remember this one more. 😁

I than went on to pay and a handsome tall cashier named Raul greeted me very kindly and made sure to help with everything i needed. GREAT EMPLOYEES HERE!!!

This is perhaps the worst Walmart I’ve ever visited. I will say the staff are very kind and helpful but the managers are NEVER available. First, my Thanksgiving order was delivered to the wrong house. Of course there was no one to call. I got a refund no problem, but then had to go to Kroger to shop last minute. Next my business was delivered a wrong item and the system said it could only be exchanged for the same item! After three visits, and an hour and a half of my life wasted, (no manager to be found), the gal at the front desk put it through and it took it for a full refund! With Walmart prices coming close to other grocery stores, and the store always being out of everything, Kroger is looking pretty good.

It’s the slowest Walmart we have in town! They pick up orders are never ready and they will tell you they’re 4 hours behind everyday.. it’s a bunch of teenagers just goofing around and not getting things done at all.. I highly recommend the Walmart Burgess Rd, this on will definitely have your order ready with no wait longer then 5 minutes and all of them are very kind and respectful.. this one has some very rude and disrespectful staff.. drive past this place folks..

Does not have much compared to the other Walmarts. Cold food is warm, cheese is molded and a lot of items are expired, and the prices are not marked on alot of items. The carts need the wheels fixed on most of them. The check out spots are always dirty and never cleaned. The bags are almost impossible to start opening. The pharmacy seems to be the only thing decent there. I will be starting to go to a different Walmart for now on.
