Best Buy can be overwhelming, including this one. I found this store to be low on stock on many items. It was difficult to find an employee to ask about it. It seems they all want to work in the cell phone area. When finally getting assistance the employee was unsure and needed to ask someone else. For being an empty store I was there longer than needed. When I went to check out there was one person available. There was a line of four customers with a single cashier. The store was clean. No one greeted me. Mediocre customer service. I met with Matt R., he’s a very level headed, polite young man. It took a while to transfer info. from old phone to new phone. Old phone was showing 15.99 gigs of data used out of 16 gigs that was available. Almost a block of wood. But he was persistent to get all data transferred, which I was grateful.

Then he was flipping out and rushing when doing a service he was paid to do for my phone. I purchased a sound bar as a birthday gift for my dad, first available installation date was December 31.
The install day comes, we’re given an eight hour window. No one calls. No one shows up. We call to reschedule and visit Best Buy the next day. Best Buy employees are great and offer a gift card, have no knowledge that the contractor never showed up.
Rescheduled day comes again, the contractor calls two hours ahead of his appointment window and says “I’ll be there in 5 minutes.” Dad has a doctor appointment in 20 minutes and can’t be home at this time. He reiterates our appointment was rescheduled for 12-3 and says to call back at 11:30. We’re trying to be flexible.
Hours go by, we cannot reach the contractor. We try calling and texting. The contractor has our sound bar. So at this point we’ve paid for it over 2 weeks ago, but we still don’t have it.
An hour before the end of the delivery window, we get an automated call from Best Buy saying we requested to reschedule our install for January 10 (a week from now).
Absolutely absurd service. As of now we’ve paid for a sound bar we have no idea when we will get. The best part of all this is all the contractor is being paid to do is come over and unplug a sound bar and plug in another one. I strongly recommend Best Buy reevaluate ever working with this contractor ever again.

Buying “Open Box” is always risky but you would think there would be some sort of confirmation between what is sold online and what is in the store.
TV was deemed “Excellent” condition which means, according to Best Buy definition, it has the
1. Box (or supplemental box provided)
2. All accessories
3. No scratches/marks or damageWhen I came to pick up the TV, it had no box (just bubble wrap), no TV legs, no remote, and visible damage (found later only after opening at home). The sticker on it said Excellent as well. The “manager” said they’re not responsible for lost items or making sure the website matches what’s in stock. On top of which, they don’t check if the order description matches what’s in stock and you can’t call the store to confirm it either because they did away with direct store calling. Had to fight to get my remote and legs only to find they just handed me legs for a different series TV.
My plan is to try and go back to get those TV legs or a portion of my money back. Stay tuned…
UPDATE:
Found out no Best Buy will replace component parts even if they were the ones that made the mistake. Ended up settling for $25 refund from customer service help line.Major Key for Best Buy – If you plan to sell Open Box items, you should at least put a process in place to ensure the description matches the product. Otherwise it’s just you swindling money from customers and saying it’s the customer’s fault.

Sure, there are occasional in-store frustrations, but look: you get reliable products with reliable customer service at reasonable prices. When you think about it, you realize that that’s pretty rare in today’s globalized and depersonalized economy. I was unable to find their micro SD cards on my own so I went to customer service. I waited in line for about 25 minutes for someone to help me but they were busy. I found help at the rear register.
